Wanted to test the Stick The Remote in the Console bracket if remote battery dies. I took the remote battery out to be sure it was "dead". Put the remote in the holder and it worked! When I exited, I pressed the Lock button. So now with a dead remote, I couldn't get in. But using the Secret Code open the door worked OK. Just have to remember it.

Recently there was a post that said "If I had a 2nd remote, I'd be all set." Got my MME last Wednesday, and it had 2 remotes. Is that a new perk?

Tip:

1) You can program your own code in addition to the factory code that isn't removable.

2) Open your cell phone contact list, and put in a contact called "Ford" or "MachE" or whatever. Store the code in there...

I changed the factory door code to one I can easily remember.

To be clear, you ADDED a code that you can remember. You cannot remove/change the factory code on a Ford.

Is all the Contact List stuff just to record the code somewhere you can find it?
I added a code by:
go to vehicle drawer
settings
vehicle
door keypad code
enter factory code xxxxx Enter
Personal keypad code. ADD
Add personal keypad code
Add new 5-digit "factory" code *
xxxxx
confirm new 5-digit code
xxxxx Enter

* of course they want the new personal code,
not the "new factory code". Bad proofreading.

Yes. If you cannot remember 5 digits, store it in your phone's contact list, just don't make it obvious like "Code to open Mach-E".

So Rick, it appears you are correct! I was sure I reset the factory code, but I just checked and all I did was add a personal code.

OK, I used my sister's birthdate so I'd remember. Once I forget that I probably won't remember how to get home anyway. Oh yeah, the GPS lady!
