Departure Precondition & Climate not Working

This Departure Time function starts the Climate preparation and after 5 seconds give me this caution symbol before failing and displaying the original “Climate” label.

Anyone know how to resolve this problem?

That is not departure time, it is Climate/Remote start. Have you driven the car since the last Climate start? You can only do 2, or 1and one extend, before you have to drive it.

I’ve started it in the garage but haven’t driven for a month. I have a 3 amp maintainer on the 12v battery. My wife won’t use it when salt is on the roads.

If you do a remote start, twice, you done. Now you have to go and physically start the vehicle. So, if you for some reason did 2 remote starts, or 1 and an extend, and then didn't drive it, you can't remote start again.

I physically started the car hoping to fix my issue. I also did the volume down/arrow to reset the system. Remote start still fails and departure time initiations also fail.

I’m familiar with doing multiple remote starts causing the need for a physical start. This issue is not for that reason.

My departure time failure is as follows:
On Fordpass app: Preparing Cabin message, Climate fan starts spinning. 30 seconds later the preconditioning stops, failed with no message given.

I haven’t driven the car on the road for a month but keep a trickle charger on the 12v battery. Maybe the car needs to be driven.

I’ve had the same issue since mid December. The climate is no longer working and I can’t precondition off plug. Departure time only works when plugged in. I have checked all the settings (which were never changed), signed out of the app, deleted and reinstalled the app, deleted PAAK and set it back up again and nothing works. There is a Facebook group where lots of owners are reporting the same issue in the last couple months.

If you get a fix can you share it please.

Check your privacy settings in the car. There’s one that says something like share car data or share car status. It needs to be on for the app to work.

This has happened to me a couple times. I find if I restart my android phone. Those controls and features come back and work fine again

per your suggestion, I found that the Departure Time Preconditioning does work when plugged in. Didn’t know since I never keep the car plugged in.

I signed releases for Ford and they will send me “tokens” for them to dial into my system and do research. I don’t know if they will fix my problem but I’m willing to supply research data so they can improve software.

Having the same issues for the past month or so. Cant remote start climate. Rebooted phone, rebooted sync, re-paired digital key, nothing works. It just spins, shows me an triangle with a !, and that's it. It's getting hot in Arizona, need this back!

My issue is resolved and it boiled down to me not understanding how this function works.

Do a physical start of the MME and then right after try the remote start. Let me know if this works.

Intentionally by this function, after either 2 Departures or Remote Starts, the remote start function will not work until the MME is physically started.

i don’t think that’s it. I drive the car regularly. It doesn’t remote start the climate still. I tried turning connected services off and on, and it didn’t fix it, but it did cancel my free bluecruise trial. Now I have to work with ford to fix remote climate AND get my bluecruise trial back

That sucks it canceled your trial. Ford is working with my car to hopefully discover the problem with the climate not working. I have to sign an agreement and have tokens installed in my car this week. I’m still not sure if they are a physical part or a software download but if it resolves the problem I’m game.
