Did you know Costco Citi VISA now offers 4% back on EV charging ?Ah. I looked at it. Ford Visa gives you 1% on most things, 3% on gas, auto insurance, tolls, parking, and dining. While it does give 5% back on a purchase, I'd be shocked if any dealer let you use that much (most limit you to a few thousand dollars).
I get 2% cashback on most cards. Costco Visa gives 3% on restaurant and travel. I'd rather have more cash than points that have a 1 year expiration if not used / added to.
"On something I don't really need."I have little choice but to "hang on to them for a bit". The accessories website will not let me log into my account and therefore can't use the points. On something I don't really need. @Gimme_my_MME
Yes, I knew that (and posted it prior). HOWEVER, it will only give you 4% back if the charge goes through as EV charging.Did you know Costco Citi VISA now offers 4% back on EV charging ?
Might have to shift my public DCFC credit card from the Ford Pass VISA to Costco Citi VISA....
Confused ?.......
Note, FordPass EV charging, via Plug and Charge or swiping a charger in the app, goes through as Ford Motor Company. Therefore, no 4% credit.
I'd imagine so. I think they were specifically talking about using Plug and Charge. All my public DCFC has a separate app (EA, EVGo, ChargePoint, Shell,...) which is connected to the credit card - would those charges using the network app apply as an EV charge ?
They should. The app is irrelevant, it's how the COMPANY puts the charge through on the credit card. FordPass, no matter what network you charge on, pays for the charging with the credit card linked to FordPass. And, it goes through as Ford Motor Company, which is NOT an EV charging company. Therefore, no 4% cashback from Costco Visa (I know, because I used it and got nothing).Confused ?

No, not just Plug and Charge. Open FordPass, select charger, swipe charger to activate.I'd imagine so. I think they were specifically talking about using Plug and Charge.
I do like you do - use the different charging apps. I'll only use P&G when I finally end up using any of my EA credits, which I still haven't done.
I guess I've just been referring to anything initiated via the Ford app as 'Plug and Charge."No, not just Plug and Charge. Open FordPass, select charger, swipe charger to activate.
If you have to initiate the charge with any app, it's not Plug and Charge.I guess I've just been referring to anything initiated via the Ford app as 'Plug and Charge."
I don't use Ford's plug and charge app except when I want to use up the EA free 250kW which I still have not touched since EA chargers near me are awful experiences (long lines, malfunctioning charger, other brands getting free charge competition, idle time after fully charging and the driver nowhere to be found).I guess I've just been referring to anything initiated via the Ford app as 'Plug and Charge."
So the only true plug and charge at this time are: Ford Connected service (EA) & EVGo ?If you have to initiate the charge with any app, it's not Plug and Charge.
