Disappearing PaaK

Twice today I saw the dreaded “set up Phone as a Key” message and my PaaK disappeared. Anyone know why this is happening?

It's a bug in the current version of FordPass. Force close the app to get it come back.

At least I’m expert at setting up PaaK. It helps give PaaK the unreliable tag.

You should test your door code and backup start code that you setup with PaaK.

I found that although PaaK disappears on FordPass page 1, it still exists in the PaaK features tab and worked for me. Remember that the door code and backup key code is setup on the console, not FordPass.

How are these things making it past QA? This is an essential feature and I would consider this an urgent issue that needs to be addressed ASAP.

How can we leave the house and be confident that we can unlock, lock or start our cars with bugs like this?

4.16.1 “fixes s as n intermittent app crash.” Unfortunately, that doesn’t cover falsely reporting we need to set up PAAK.

From what I can tell, the bug is just cosmetic. PaaK still works, and you can get the buttons back by force closing the app. It still needs to be fixed, but it shouldn’t leave you stranded in the meantime.

Mine starts with its “Amazing Set Up PAAK” act on the second activation of the day. I’ve yet to try and use it anyway, I just force quit the app and relaunch. I now have a project for tomorrow. See if it works anyway.

Still this is something easy to catch if they actually do any testing!

Think of anyone not on this forum and they get this issue. Terrible experience for the less savvy.
