Sure, if you live in the sticks, your local dealer probably can't get as much for your trade. I got offers from everyone and was passing along my experience. OP should get offers from everyone as well.

As for the national dealers, price variance seems to have more to do with their current inventory or financial situation. Vroom has been giving out lowball offers the last 8 months because they paid too much for everyone's beater in 2021.
Way too simplified, which is why I agree OP should get prices from all sources.

SE Michigan has an abundance of A/Z Plan purchases. Drives prices down. Dealers can't move used Premium AWD ER cars for $59,999. Yet they sell elsewhere for thousands more. There are over a dozen Ford dealers within less than 15 miles.

Last year Vroom was low for me, yet high for others selling various cars at the time. People on the west coast raved out it. Crap for me. I sold to Carvana last Fall, they beat everyone. Now, with their difficulties, they're down the list quite a bit. Driveway beat all the local dealers, but a dealer 5 hours away beat everyone else.

But that would mean I own four cars which seems a little excessive for one person. I’ve got to sell some cars! I may sell another older car to a niece.
You should probably sell it before you get the new one.

So my new MME is built, ETA August 9-15. Do I go ahead and sell the old MME or do I wait for the bird in hand? I have another car so I’m not left without transport. I had planned to take my Carvana, CarMax, etc quotes in to use as leverage for trading in—just easier that way. DH doesn’t want to be bothered with driving me 1 1/2 hours to the dealer and there’s no tax on the trade-in value. I miscalculated and thought quotes were good for 30 days, but nope only 7 and I’m supposed to be out of town the 10th to 15th. Has anyone gotten an early trade-in quote from the dealer? Is that a thing?
I got a 2022 MME two weeks ago, so I sold my 2021 MME premium extended RWD to Driveway for $60K.

Does it make sense to get at least a Carvana (30 day) and private dealer quote soon to take in when the car arrives? This could give me a basis to know if I have a reasonable chance to trade or sell the car without losing too much money. If the trade-in value is too low and I’m going to lose too much I will sadly skip the new car or have a good clue that I can sell online after I pick up the new car for a reasonable price. BTW, given that I qualify for the full tax credit (x2) and was and am price protected, I think I should be able to have driven this car for free, at worst. But I want to try to make sure that is still the case.

You will find out with the online guys if you are ok. I will tell you that you WILL exceed what you paid, including all taxes and fees. YOU WILL.

Mine was ordered May 2021. In May 2022 when it came in I got the 0.9% financing. If you currently have financing or Ford Options, they'll likely easily let you own two at the same time. Many of us, while owning one, got emails in January offering us $110,000 more pre-approved.

Also, if you get a quote that expires in 7 days, on day 8 you get another 7 day quote. Nothing hard to do.
