The time has come for me to leave you fine people. I expected to be here for quite some time as I love my 2021 GTPE to this day and have had almost no issues with it since I had my HVBJB fixed early on. But I saw the deals Lucid is offering this month and couldn't pass it up.

Anyway, I am just wondering what I need to do before I sell my car. Obviously I want to remove my phone from CarPlay/bluetooth. I have the original card with door code so I plan to reset that back to the original door code. I don't want my credit card attached to the BlueOval charge network after I sell it. Is there anything else I need to do to the car itself? Is there some kind of factory reset I can do that will clear everything in one shot?

Does the remaining BlueCruie and Navigation subscriptions transfer to the new owner?

Also, I still have a balance of 215.00 kWh left from the free charging I was given at EA. Does that transfer to the new owner?

In more general questions about selling my car, do you think the new recall is likely going to make it harder to sell it since people will be concerned? Or do you think it may actually make it easier to sell since there are no new ones available for the time being. I replaced my 12v battery in February so there shouldn't be too much concern that the recall will affect mine.

I have just under 30k miles on it. I am hoping to get $37k for it. Is that realistic or am I dreaming? It has a trailer hitch and I am including a Thule bike rack.

Any advice you all can give will be greatly appreciated.

In FP app Vehicle>Settings>Vehicle Access>Rest Instructions>Factory & Ford Pass Reset options are where there is a lot of help.

can’t even find the manual in FP anymore, seems to have been removed.

there must be T&Cs on the subscribed services.

hopefully the recalls will be release before you sell, they can’t take too long if they can’t sell or release cars until they have deployed a fix.

price, demand, perception is all down to market forces & conditions of which, as EV and particularly MME adopters we are at the mercy.

good luck?

Price of 37k? Do not believe you will get close to it for a 5th year of production vehicle.

Your price is not close to market.

The original door code was always working...

Do full reset in vehicle menu. This disconnects the car from you, deletes all phones, removes codes, etc.

Subscriptions are tied to vehicle. Free charging hours are lost.

I know it’s a different market but mine’s probably worth about Ā£11k as a trade-in & Ā£12.5k as private sale?

One careful owner from new - NOT, fully loaded all the time with damaged trim

Low mileage - NOT, with 116,000 miles on the clock

Never raced or rallied - well, that part’s true but it’s use was probably far more demanding ?

Where did you pull that $37k number from?

You’re likely to get closer to $28k.

On a related note, while you are on the internet, make sure to google ā€œLucid bankruptcy probability.ā€

Right now it’s estimated between 40 and 60% in the next 24 months.

If you think our resale is bad, just wait until you own a car from a bankrupt company. Expect around 20 cents on the dollar at that point. Just ask the Fisker owners.

Not trying to burst your bubble, just hoping to help you know the risks.

Very good point. Hold the outside buttons for 10 seconds until the lights flash rapidly.

I got $26K on a trade-in for my 2021 GT-PE with 19K miles on it 7 months ago. That was a bit more than what I had been seeing around that time that people were getting for trade-ins and just under what private party sales were hitting. KBB said it was in the $25K-29K range for a trade-in, which was skewed from my PoV since nobody was getting the bottom end of that. It would be hard to see a car that’s now one model year older with more miles getting much more than $4K over what I got. ?ā€ā™‚?

Your value is for a trade-in or selling to some place like Carvana. Running the numbers at kbb.com but selecting private sale gets me this:

Ford Mustang Mach-E What do I need to do before selling my Mach-E 1750521049177-u0

I’m trying to sell through a place called Exotic Car Trader. They handle all of the paperwork, can provide financing, can facilitate shipping, etc., so I’m hoping they can get me a little closer to the high end of the range. When I got my Mach-E, I sold my FJ Cruiser through them. Trade in on that was also about $28k. I sold it for $42k through them. They suggested starting at $40k for the Mach-E but that is definitely too high.

I think the odds of Lucid ending up like Fisker are pretty remote. They are very different companies. Fisker always seemed like they had one foot in the grave. It was almost a shock that they actually delivered some cars. Lucid has some very good tech and I would be very surprised if the company just vanished like Fisker did. It’s much more likely that if they can’t make it, someone will buy them for their technology. Either way, I’m leasing this time, so resale is only a concern if I want to get something else before the lease is up, which isn’t likely. Of course if they did just some how vanish like Fisker and the car started glitching, who knows… but I’m comfortable with the risk of that happening.

Oh, and someone asked on another thread that mentioned the deals that Lucid is having what would happen to the lease if they went belly up before the lease is up, and would you still have to pay it? While the lease is technically through Lucid, Bank of America is tied into it somehow, so I’m guessing I would still have to pay them even if Lucid no longer existed.

Lucid is definitely in trouble, but yeah, Lease might be a good way to go.

Yes you would still have to pay the lease if they went bankrupt. You would owe the payments to their creditors.

Last time you bought a car was the same time I bought my Mach E.

There was a HUGE shortage of new and used cars and people overpaid. Heck, I got $45k for my used 2015 Chevy SS. I paid $36k for it new in 2016.

Now? Opposite problem. There is a glut of used electric cars and they’re sitting on lots. Getting even the bottom end of trade value is hard.

Just look at the asking prices for RETAIL around you, as low as $28k, and you won’t get retail. But hey, more power to you if you can!

I found yours on Cars.com, at least I am pretty sure this is yours. Makes it nice so those on this thread can keep an eye on how your sale goes, good luck with the sale.

I would edit the battery size to what Ford uses 98 opposed to the actual capacity. Capacity slowly degrades over time.
