Were the same numbers shown in the car? Fordpass might be at fault here, and the car never was actually charged to 71%

Is it possible that Chekov stole electrons?

None of this makes sense to be honest.
What did the car say on the cluster when you got in after charging - did it report 71%?

We’re seeing what the FordPass app is reporting - and we’ll sometimes it’s an odd snowflake. What did the dash/car report - did it match the app?

/edit yes exactly what @alexgorod said!

Yes exactly what Ford pass shows is what the dash showed. I even ended the charge session early when it said 71%/170ish miles so that another driver could use the charger as it was more than enough to get to the mid point where I was going to have to charge anyway. It'd be interesting if the reporting was off but that'd make the app and car wrong and of course I'd been over-charged at that point. I dunno. For it to recalculate the max range available (270ish to 230) it must have changed something in its calculation of some kind.

I got extremely low on battery due to never getting a chance to go to the supercharger, so does it rescale at all to help users not run out? Like is there a reserve battery used under 10% battery life or something and in reality filled that up vs the main battery and then recalculated this morning?

The other thing was that the supercharger quoted like 2 hours to get to 80% and 1 hour later or so I was already at 71%. I'll try and figure out some more info as I get it. All I know is that I charged up to 71%/170ish miles (as shown in the charge session) and that was reflected on the vehicle as well until I restarted this morning.

Well let’s move onto the next question then -
On the drive to drill what was your Miles/kW efficiency?

I'll have to look that up as I've never used this before/haven't traveled more than my normal 40-50 miles. Sorry.

No, it does not "rescale".

Under no circumstance should the % battery number change overnight by more than 1-2%, if at all. A 90% battery at bedtime is a 90% battery in the morning, or maybe 89 or 91.

This could be it in a way as well - first road trip. All highway miles compared to all city commute miles. Let me also ask your average speed … above 70? Well above 70?

However does not explain the batt % discrepancy.

That was my biggest concern. I know that I have no unknown mileage after parking it last night, but is there a power/energy consumption somewhere I can research? Something like the driving log or charging log or something that would show what components used what energy in the last 24 hours or something?

Unless you’re recording Journeys - which is flaky at best.
Your only option are the Trip logs (current, trip 1, and trip 2)

Another dumb question. Can you steal or transfer energy from a car? There's only one pay for charger within 20-30 miles of here. Didn't know if that would be possible or not.

I really feel like the supercharger or my vehicle was just displaying the wrong info and it didn't update til this morning. I can't make any sense of it otherwise. Or well I can't make sense of it with there being 0 other warnings, errors, etc.

Here's another clue. My bill from Ford was for 48kw. It's a 88kw battery right so that's realistically around 54% of energy vs the 67% charged?

Let's make this easy. Your dash displays the % battery charged. That's factual. If it was 71% at night, and 51% in the morning, you have a problem.

Yes, you can steal energy from the car. Here's Chekov demonstrating:

Nothing changed when I got in my vehicle and made it to Bham with 20 miles to spare. Range was pretty accurate even after being reset. Took pics before and will after charging. Trying to charge again from 9 to 80%
