Dreaded pre-collision alert warning when 450 miles from home

While 450 miles away from home, the dreaded pre-collision alert warning pops up. I understand no ACC, but does the ‘normal’ cruise still work? I tried selecting it in the menu, and can’t seem to get it to turn on.

The one time I got the warning, it went away after a restart. I figured it was just a temporary glitch in the matrix.
