Drive Mode Erratic After a Minor Rear-End Collision

A Honda Civic hit rear-end at very low speed when light changed to green but car in front did not begin driving. In addition to the bumper/electronics damage I am noticing that the drive mode defaults to Maverick, rather than Whisper. When I changed to Whisper, it changes back to Maverick. I will notify the Ford Collision center when it is in for repairs. Curious if anyone else has experienced this?

My mache randomly forgets what drive mode it's in. Never been in an accident. Seems like another ford software bug. It seems to be happening more frequently in the last few months. While driving, which is unnerving. Driver profile is steady, so that is not the issue.

Thanks. Has not changed drive modes the past two days now. Still occasionally generates the message 'drive mode not available'. Our driver profiles are also steady.
