An issue started today- the post that opens the driver side door is sticking out and will not retract so I cannot close the door and drive. Driver door stays ajar.
Any suggestions to fix this or do I need to tow it in to the dealer? No faults I can see have been generated by the car.
Thanks.

The door open actuator can be pushed back in manually. Takes a bit of force, but it will go.

Try using a screwdriver to actuate the latch. That will often make the presenter retract.

Thank you for the quick responses. We were unable to manually push the actuator in, and using a screwdriver to jiggle the latch DID release it and allowed everything to reset. It happened again an hour later, but we have a workaround now with the screwdriver until we can have the locking mechanisms looked at.

Can you send over a message with your VIN and estimated mileage? I would like to take a closer look at your door concerns on my end.

Weird. This just happened to me as well. The car was sitting at the airport for 5 days and I noticed the drivers front door did not close when I got in.

Happened to us this morning for the first time. Door wouldn’t fully close, drove a short way down the street, got out and the door shut. Locked it unlocked and working again. Car had been sat for 2 weeks without moving.

At the very end of the video posted by tbrumleve is the page (page 84) from the owners manual which says:

How to close my door if the actuator is extended?
Apply pressure by pushing the outside of the door until the door closes.

My drivers door won’t close, actuator won’t retract. Happened yesterday, called dealer, they are sending a van out today to look at it. I neglected to check the forum for ideas until today… seems like it’s not an isolated issue..

You can push the door presenter back into the door manually. ??

Well my drivers door presenter failed this morning on my MY23 Mach E. Managed to push back in manually with the palm of my hand which isn’t easy by any means but I don’t particularly like the idea of pushing on the door when it’s preventing it closing with the force required. Opened and closed the door successfully at least 20 times, neighbours must love me and all seems okay now with the presenter retracting after it popping the door open

is this issue likely to return as it’s the girlfriends daily and no way she would be able to force the presenter back in? Got it booked in in January for a brakes update so may tell them it’s failed a fair few times so they change whatever needs changing.

any thoughts?
