Thanks! I had not heard of anyone doing this before, but she does because she doesn't have a home charger. I thought if traveling to someone's home, there would be an adapter that I could have on hand to charge overnight would be another safety measure.
just use the 120v 'tail' of your mobile charger. plug into any outlet, and plan on a slooooooooow charge of about 3 miles of range per hour of charge.

There is nothing wrong with plugging/unplugging the dryer plug, but be warned, you will wear the receptacle doing that, so instead of lasting a decade, it may only last 10 years....
The outlet or the house?

I read the Kia/Hyundai 120VAC (NEMA 5-15) EVSE will work at 240VAC with an adapter. This doubles your charging rate. Has anybody tested this on the Ford EVSE NEMA 5-15 plug?

Yes, gives you about 3 kWh rate. Used that method for many years with my Volt. Many supplied L1 EVSEs have voltage autosense and will pass the input power at the rated max current. The adapter has to connect the 240 hots to the 5-15 hot and neutral and ground to ground.
