I am considering replacing my old 2012 VersaCharge EVSE with a dual plug unit some time in the near future. However, I've only seen two models for sale (probably more that I just haven't seen yet), one by ChargePoint, and one by Grizzl-E (sp?). Has anyone had any direct experience with either of these, or another model and can offer input?

I have the Grizzl-E duo on my ceiling in a two car garage. My wife's car is not currently an EV, but the next one will be at least a plug-in. I tested both cables from the charger before installing it.
The unused cable is just coiled up on the ceiling, and I'll let it down when we need it.

I picked it because it requires only a single 14-50 outlet, and if you mount it in the right place, it can reach either bay for either front or rear charging 2x cars simultaneously. I am not familiar with the Chargepoint dual option, but I specifically didn't want WiFi or outlet sharing to factor into the situation. It tends to be just one more thing that can go wrong.

Grizzl-E is simple, you plug it in and car receives charge. If you plug in two cars, they each receive ~5kW until one car is done and then the other car can receive the whole ~10kW.

For the "smart charger" options out there, I think most people will eventually revert to a basic / convenient usage of their EVSE and not constantly be checking/controlling things from an app anyways.
I am hoping that the Utility companies will eventually partner with the auto manufacturers to provide the data and peak control mechanisms currently built into smart chargers.

Looks like I said ChargePoint by mistake. Clipper Creek was the manufacturer I was thinking of; call it a brain fart... =)

I am leaning more towards the Grizzl-E since it is a little cheaper than the other unit I was looking at (ironically, about the same price I paid for the VersaCharge years ago), and I do not need the smart tech. My solar panel app tells me everything I need to know about power consumption. Given my current solution is wired such that it is exactly between the two cars in the garage and can reach either without issue, a dual plug system should work fine.

Would be nice to be able to plug both in and use the remote start/preconditioning features they come with while grid-connected.
