Was wondering if anyone else has run into a glitch like this and if there are any concerns....

I was charging at a 350kW EA station using the in-car charging app. Everything is going well until I got a FordPass notification that I have been billed for my charging session and look up at the charger and I see the thank you notification on the EA screen. Then the please plug in first screen. Car was only at 50% charge then.

What was interesting is that car was still charging!!!! Verified in the car and in FordPass. At first I was like woo-hoo free charging!!! I continued to 85% charge then it crept into my mind but now there is probably no EA control of charging flow rates for slowing after 80% not stopping charging. Fear started to set in so I stopped the charge.

Never seen that before.....anybody else?

Any issues with taking the free charging without any control?

I had a shell recharge crash on me and reboot after payment authorization but the dcfc continued. I was just popping into the store and testing it so it wouldn’t have been too much maybe $7 but it never came though and no one followed up.

I used an Electrify America station on a 456 mile round trip for a funeral, and each time (Fri. & Sat.) it stopped and I had to unplug, replug & restart the session. Twice, after getting the "Something went wrong with your charging session" notice on my car mileage screen. It was annoying both days, and especially when the temp was 5°, it was dark and winds were howling!

There is control. You are under the mistaken impression that Ford corporate somehow controls the charging rate since they control the billing. No correct.

The vehicle and the charger communicate. The vehicle tells the charger the max that it wants, and the charger delivers the max it can deliver.
