Have you checked with your local power company to see if they may have a time of day use power program or a special time of day use program for electrical vehicles. Rocky Mountain Power here offers the program for EVs and during off-peak times (8 pm to 3 pm M-F, weekends and holidays), I pay 5 cents per KWH and 25 cents per KWH during peak times (currently 3 pm to 8 pm, M-F). The times do add another peak timeframe from October to April. After owning my first EV for ~10 months, I'm a little surprised comparing my electric usage from last year to this year. My usage has essentially doubled, on average. I have a dumb charger (Grizzl-E).
The app's charging history appears to just provide made-up kWh numbers based on how long the vehicle has been plugged in. Without a smart charger, is there any way to get accurate information on real energy used from the vehicle, by charging and by sitting "idle" after charging is complete?
How much power does this thing draw when it's just sitting there, plugged in but charged?
Edit: Forgot to mention, no crazy mileage being driven, I'm on track to be just under 10k for the year.
Thought you could save some money if your electrical company offers this.
