I think the missing Sync version is a sign that your car is in the stuck 1.7.1 state. If so, there's a good chance the dealer won't be able to fix it until the TSB for that is released.
Yikes - I hope not. I'll find out by the end of the week I guess.

Our car just started doing the same. It hasn't automatically stopped yet. Any updates on the exact cause? @lereed15 ?

there's been some talk on one of the 2.4.2 threads that if you're getting one of the "can't drive the car" updates, that it will do this. I realize the car was driven when this was happening, but I'm wondering if that plus the weird state indicated by the Sync version screen suggest something went very wrong with an OTA and it took a while for the "automatic flashers because I'm busy" state to get cleared.

this is 100% speculation.

Thanks, and just like what happened to OP, the flasher stopped on its own, so the theory does sound a bit more plausible.

Is there any update to this old thread? I found it bc I got up this morning and my flashers were going off. By the time I went out to the car they’d stopped. I don’t see any update to the software, but idk.
