For some reason, my iPhone 16 will not complete the setup as "passive entry and remote controls" key. Worked fine a week ago. Also, the iPhone is paired with the car. Music, contacts, messages, and Nav through Google Maps work just fine. I've tried to go through the steps several times, I know I'm in an open area (same as when I first set it up)...what else can I look for to resolve this?

What’s the error? Have tried deleting PAAK first? The instructions are in the FordPass app

The iPhone being paired to the car for music, contacts, maps, phone calls, etc, has nothing to do with PAAK. There's a separate pairing action that has to happen to use the phone as a key.

In the Ford app, scroll down to Settings, click on ā€œPhone as a Keyā€. Then scroll down and tap on ā€œReset Instructionsā€. Follow the steps.

Also, in the car manual, see the Phone as a Key section for more troubleshooting info.

Top is the message, of course, the bottom are the instructions I found when following the message at the top of the first image did not work... the "phone cues" would said "Pair Device", after starting the vehicle in an open area, and then showed a 6-digit key to download. Did that, but the the process never completed (did this at least 6 times).

I found the instructions by using the Settings and

Sorry for all the bother, I don’t know if it just takes it a very long time to connect or what. I left this morning on a road trip, and at a charging stop. I tried it again and it worked fine. It’s possible that could’ve had something to do with the weather at my home compared with the weather today which was sunny and bright suffice as I am up and running again with it.

The PaaK setup requires a strong AT&T cellular connection and will stall or time out if your location has a bad AT&T cellular signal. Perhaps the AT&T signal was better where you were charging. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļøšŸ©
