ERROR ACTIVATING FRUNK WITH FDRS

Good morning everyone,

after about a month of reading and various tests I decided to ask for help because honestly I don't know what else to try. I've been trying to activate Frunk for a long time both from the "sync 4" tablet and from the key, but unfortunately with always failed attempts.

Using Forscan I only managed to make the button appear on the display, but in fact even if I press it it doesn't work. It has become a question of principle for me, it is not possible that something so stupid can be so complicated.

There is more and more on the forum, but there is no clear guide on how to perform this procedure. Many refer to activation via FDRS, well I tried this too (I state that I have all the updated modules), but I have this error result that you see in the attached screen.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be?

You can try to follow the instructions of TSB 23-2281 as the GFM and FTRM are the modules that control the frunk opening.

Good morning everyone,

I would like to share with you what happened and understand if anyone has any solution or experience similar to mine.

A week ago I went to the Ford authorized workshop reporting two problems:

The first is that I still cannot activate the opening of the frunk front panel either from the display or from the keyboard, every time I tried to enable it through FDRS I always got the error in the image you see in the previous message where the instructions of the TSB 23-2281 bulletin are recalled.

In this regard I give the workshop a photocopy of this bulletin and ask them to activate this blessed frunk for me.

As a second point I complain that the maps of the integrated navigator are not updated, in Italy there is no subscription to update them, this should happen automatically.

I was contacted after a couple of days and was told that the frunk actuator was blocked and needed to be replaced, while for the maps it was necessary to reset the system through my app.

I went to pick up my car after a few days and was sold the joke that even though they replaced the frunk actuator (cost €275) it was necessary to wait for the next updates. Being smart I told them to return the replaced part to me and by magic when I got home and connected to a power supply the part was perfectly working.

For the map update, however, nothing, despite the reset everything remained unchanged.

I tried once again to follow the instructions in the TSB 23-2281 bulletin, I have no modules to update, they are all updated including the BCM and GFM module.

Yesterday, however, something happened, I received an OTA update 24-PU0102-FTDI-FX where in the EU version it would be an update for opening the frunk hood through the fordpass application.

You won't believe it, but finally only from the application I can open the frunk, from its key or from the display I can't do it, from the display I don't even have the icon to do it.

Has anyone ever encountered this problem or have an idea on how to solve it?

Your frunk soft switch is disabled. Try:

Now the last problem concerns the activation via the key button, unfortunately from the key I can not open, and to think that for me it would be essential given that I always keep the bluetooth deactivated, while its key is always with me.

If you could give me some tips to solve this function too I will offer you a Neapolitan espresso here in Italy though

Hi, I have tried all these things but with no success. When I changed the value indicated in some cases just written, the driver's door came out open even though it was closed. For the rest, however, nothing, when I tried to open it with the remote control key nothing happens.

I'm out of ideas. I would look through the Forscan spreadsheet in the BCM section to see if anything there relates to what you're trying to do.

I hope you solve rhe problem. You are displaying good humor, which is great. I wonder, though, since you’re in Milano, could it be that your Mach E, as a Milanese, has serious objections to you offering Neapolitan espresso and is refusing to cooperate for that reason??

it's very likely that it's that too, let's say that the espresso coffee made according to the rules of the art is the Neapolitan one, because if I had to offer a Milanese espresso coffee I'm sure I'd get punched for how disgusting it is

sounds like a good idea for both the sake of your nose and for espresso flavor, to stick with the Neapolitan espresso.

Could you tell me where I can find this excel spreadsheet?

I am quite familiar with the FDRS software, with forscan I have done very few things, so I am not very prepared.

Just document whatever is there before you change anything just in case you need to revert back. Or make a copy of the as-built data of whatever module you're going to play with so you can flash it back if needed.
