New to the forum so mods if this belongs elsewhere, please let me know or feel free to move to the correct section.

Skipped the line and pulled the trigger on a Premium that was passed on for just under 3k over MSRP. Thought I'd share some of my notes I took while calling many, many dealers who tacked on exorbitant markups. These are all for GTs with the Panoramic Roof and BlueCruise equipment since there weren't many Premium ER AWD's within 100 miles around me during my search.

Good luck to all those still in the hunt, I know how irritating it can be.

Congrats, sounds like you got an amazing deal! If all your local dealerships are putting a $10k markup on GTs, I’m surprised you got a Premium at a $3k markup. The Premiums are much more rare.

Agreed, very happy with the car and the experience with this particular dealer.

Interesting. In June, 2021, ordered my first MME GT thru Ford.com website and paid MSRP with $500 down. Last December was about to order my 2nd MME GT thru ford.com but paused at the last second to first inquire with my local Ford salesman just to confirm whether or not my $500 deposit would be refundable. Per the ford.com website suggestion.

Salesman said if I placed the 2nd GT order thru them/him, they'd forego the deposit. So I did. When I signed the good faith agreement a few days later, they had discounted the 2nd GT by $2000. At delivery time 3 weeks ago, I doubled-checked and sure enough, I paid $2000 less than MSRP.

Considering all the dealer markups going on around the country, I thought that was an excellent deal.

Would've loved 2000 under msrp, for a GT no less. Great pickup on your part.

Yes, I had to pinch myself. Total luck as I was just about to press the order submit button on the ford.com website when off to the side it suggested I confirm whether or not the deposit is refundable. Something I did not do with my first GT order. Who woulda' thunk I'd save money going thru a dealership, any dealership? But my local dealer is obviously one of the good ones.

BTW, as some of you may know, if you want the panoramic glass NOW you also have to get Ford's Co-pilot. A $2000 option which I never wanted. So I like to think I got the Co-pilot for free. Nothing worse than having to pay for something you never wanted in the first place. So I'm told. :)

Funny, I was a bit chapped at having to get the pano roof in order to get the tech package. :)

Anything under MSRP is a great deal though, congrats. I wonder if that was one of the regional rebates?

Amazing I would take that deal if I could… that person should also go buy a lotto ticket! Lucky them…

I thought I saw something recently where prices had gone up (again?) on Dec 8. My 2nd order was on I think Dec 14 so I'm guessing perhaps the dealer generated the good faith agreement based on older prices and just stuck with that. Believe me, I did not want to inquire further with them. I'd much prefer to just give them thanks.

Regardless, when we got home I told my wife we made $9500 that day taking delivery of the GT. $7500 toward the Fed tax rebate plus the $2k discount.
