Don't know why, but my thread about extended warranty has been deleted!

Anyways, I found the link to Flood Ford and worked up a Ford Premium warranty that came in at $2380 for 10yr/100K. That is over $1000 less than the estimate I had. Many thanks to the kind folks who had replied.

I see the pad is not covered. Just hope if it is going to fail it will do so in the first 3 years.

Yes, to my knowledge. That's the quote I received for a 23 Premium 4WD owned less than 12 months w 100 miles on odometer. That's given driven 8.5K yearly for 10 years duration.

When I just went into Ford Extended Service and did the same details it was closer to $4000.

We are to pick up our Mach E tomorrow. I'll likely buy this policy tomorrow night or Tuesday.

I'd suggest you play with the configurator. See what it would be if the vehicle was 13 months old, or 35 months old.

You'll find a tiny increase in cost. Basically, you can wait until just before the 3 yr / 36,000 mile warranty runs out before buying one to maximize your dollars.

Edit - 10 yr / 100,000 mile is $2,400 at Flood with zero deductible. Change it from under 12 months to under 36 months and it becomes $2,500, a $100 increase.

In 3 years, if you invest $2,400 at 5% you would have $2,789. More than pays for the $100 increase in cost.

Also, Granger is cheaper...

Thank you for your response, Trying to save an old couple a few bucks. Bless you!

But, If I can argue with your logic for a moment:

Today, I can put in a 2023 Mach-E "under 36 months" instead of 12 months and get only a $100 higher premium . But 35 months from now, putting in a 2023 Mach-E "under 36 months" is not going to produce that same premium; because the cost of today's policies will naturally rise over 3 years due to inflation and other costs to Ford for providing their coverage, This will be reflected by increased costs of premiums.

Then why would you another thread on the same subject?

I’m not a mod, but I would guess it was deleted because it reads like SPAM when your first and only posts here are basically an advertisement for a dealership.

Didn’t see the other thread so
I couldn’t say for sure.

Mach1E:

No you didn't!!!! What I asked is whether others felt I should purchase an extended warranty. In the many replies, some members mentioned sources other than directly through Ford. That's all.

Why did you feel the need to posit that I'd posted advertising? Oh! that's right - you open with the extremely clarifying statement, " Then why would you another thread on the same subject?" You are not in touch, sir!!!

Won't go up as much as you would earn.

Plus, if you sell car before 3 years / 36,000 you won't need it.

I see the wisdom of what you say. I'm 72 and retired so earnings are from SS, pension and our IRAs. In another couple of years I'll be forced to withdraw 10% eac year.

But - I do think it would be prudent to wait 3-6 months to be sure Terri is in love with the replacement of her beloved 2014 Escape Titanium. If yes, we will spend the money to buy the 10 year policy. If our driving does last that long we can transfer the policy (and car) to one of our children.

Again, thanks for your counsel.

I've been buying extended Ford warranties for years and years. There are certain dealers around the country which sell them for substantial discounts--like a $1,000 discount- to what Ford sells them for direct. And you can buy it online even if you live thousands of miles away. And no, it's not a scam. I used to check with my local dealer to see if the ESP was on my record and it always was but now you can also see it on your Ford pass app. I paid $2,400 for the premium plan for 9 years and 125 thousand miles. I think it covers just about everything but the battery, which already has good coverage.

I really appreciate you sharing your experience, I think this is going to be a great forum; rivaling the Mazda MX5 forum to which I belonged.

Yes, 1001 components covers about everything but that big pad.

Only get the Ford extended warranty not a third party company when doing the purchase. The Ford warranty is cheaper at purchase.
