Most definitely it is NOT a warranty. It's an extended service plan. Big difference in coverage.
Yes, you are correct, they are too commonly referred to as extended warranty by many articles. The manufacturer calls them service agreements, otherwise the warranty legal and financial requirements would be more "hassle."

You paid $800 for 4 extra years but only 12K extra miles of coverage. The price isn't bad if you don't put many miles on the car because time is more critical. If you put on 10K or 12K miles a year not so appealing.

Agree that it might help if you sell it. Probably more important if you transfer it to family member.

Agree third party extended service plans are useless. I will also note that having a good dealer who will advocate on your behalf extends the coverage to more things!

If someone asked for my advice, which they're not LOL, I'd advise making the extended service plan end at the same time as the battery warranty. So 96 months.
I drive an average of 5K/year and will probably sell the car after four or five years as I did with my Bolt. That will leave 23--28K miles and two--three years of extended service coverage. It is my belief that could be attractive to a buyer. I agree a longer plan would be more attractive to a buyer but coverage cost doubles pretty quickly to buy more than twice what I need and for likely marginal value for future resale.

Lombard Ford sold me the Ford extended warranty at a huge discount. When I showed the price to the finance guy at my dealer he said "buy it--that is an incredible price." I went to their site and looked at pricing, got a quote, etc. Within a day or so, got an email with an additional $228 off. I was concerned it might not be legit but the plan now shows up in my FordPass. I went with a seven year plan even though I am unlikely to keep it that long. Figured it would help sell the car since it is transferable. I paid $10 extra to get coverage for all the LED lights. https://www.lombardfordwarrantys.com

What mileage did you pick with 7 year plan? What deductible? I put in some numbers and they sent me a discount code also even though I wonā€™t be ordering a plan for months. I want a 7 year plan, 100,000 miles; and light coverage. Iā€™ve ordered a Ford ESP Plan over the Internet in the past and it worked out fine. With $100 deductible plan I have in mind was a little over $1000 with discount (If I remember right). It does bother me that the ESP Plans are for ICE cars and they donā€™t have a plan that lists coverage specifically for BEV cars.

I only bought 48K miles with my 7 year plan. The farthest we drive is Madison to Chicago, which is only 300 miles round trip. If it is farther than that, we are on an airplane. In a typical year, I drive about 5K miles. I did the $50 deductible because it cost less than $50 more than the $100 deductible. I also paid a small amount extra to cover first day rental car while in shop and to cover replacement of all LED lights in and out. That was a total of $40 extra for those two add-ons. I am absolutely not bothered by the fact that most of the specific items listed are ICE only. All of the EV components are covered except for the noted exceptions (e.g., the HVB). I even email them to make sure. My guess is that, if you entered a similar price ICE Mustang, you would see a higher price for the ESP Plan because it does have all the ICE junk.

We put on 12k+ average per year but I still get 100,000 miles just in case. Iā€™ll have to check price difference again for $50 and $100 deductible. I may have used Lombard Ford for the Fusion ESP.

I have had my MME roughly two weeks and have over 965 miles. I am driving to Houston at 3AM so round trip will be roughly 3600 miles in a week. In short we drive about 25,000 miles a year minimum. We bought this because I figured it should be good for at least 250,000 miles. I bought the 125.000 ford warranty. BEV is new to Ford and I am tired of constantly buying cars every 3 years because I am close to 100,000 miles and concerned about my wife driving up and over the mountain in the middle of the night.

warranty I hope is never used but if I need it then it will be there.

Many thanks for posting these links and information! After much research, and wheeling-dealing with the dealer (who ended up not being able to beat these prices), I pulled the trigger on the lombard warranty. Paid it in full, and after a day received confirmation email and the warranty shows up in FordPass app. Very satisfied with this price, which is definitely very reasonable.

Iā€™ve always gone with Flood Ford ESP for my extended warranties. Most likely it is similar to the Lombard Ford Warranty.

I have asked Lombard Ford and they re giving good discount.

I called Ford support directly and they explained it covers everything except the wearable and high voltage battery.

It is the battery that concerns me. Ford has never done a full BEV. 125,000 miles of zero worries is fine. If zero problems then there will not be any

If it is the Ford ESP plan, it is exactly the same no matter which dealer you buy from. I think that is how Lombard manages to sell so many with their pricing. However, I understand that some might prefer to buy the ESP from their own dealer and that price is not always the sole consideration.

Thatā€˜s not exactly true.
Ok FIRST not for compliance BEV. Big difference. ZERO shared parts with any other car. My goal is to get 250,000 and I want to make sure that I can. I trust ford but I want to make sure
