Farewell

Said farewell myself today after just about three years, figured I’d just contribute to this thread. Really really good car, but ultimately the suspension was the biggest detractor for me - I have a young child and my wife rode in the back with her frequently, and it was a very uncomfortable ride for them. It was a really fun three years though.

Replaced it with an EV9 this week which is really a fantastic car, the best move for our growing family.

Every manufacturer is going to have growing pains in a new market. Hell, most have them with established ICE cars. Grass aint greener, especially in terms of software updates.

Is Ford lagging on software development because they are going to use someone else's software for the redesigned 2027 models? Could that be Tesla? Did Ford's CEO hint at something like this earlier this year?

I havent had an OTA in almost a year and in that time I learned from Ford that my car's IPMA module got messed up and I would have to pay $900.00 out of my pocket to fix it. Luckily, I had an extended warranty and only had to pay $100.00 but, what about the people that don't have the extended warranty? They're SOL! That was the last straw for me, I could live with the lack of OTAs, the lack of OTA notes, and the lack of features being delivered.

If Ford installed software that screwed something up so they could not update the car anymore, then wait until out of warranty to fix it and start charging people for software to fix it that would be pretty low. What tech you own now adays that you have to pay for software updates after 3 years? Not many and most do not cost this amount. Whole over the air has been sad now they are going to blow it up and charge people for updates to fix things? At that point I can not disagree with your discission.

Glass has been the most unluck ever with a few of my previous never and a whole lot more miles. This one windshield, roof and side window. Maybe because they were not glued on right?

What did you pay the $100 for?

What did you pay the $100 for?

100 was the deductible on my extended warranty since I went through them to see if they will cover the 900. They covered 800.
