Hi everyone,

A few weeks ago I suddenly started receiving many warning messages while turning the car on, mainly a “Door malfunction service required” error. This was accompanied with a “Hill start assist not available” warning, and an “Auto hold system malfunction”. I thought it was the battery but I after taking the car to the dealer they said these faulty door battery is not the issue. They said the main issue is the driver’s door module, which needs to be replaced. I asked what could have caused this and they said it’s actually a common problem with the Mach E. Well it will cost me € 500 to replace the module, after the € 160 I paid today for diagnosis, so I really wonder how common this issue really is and whether anyone has some piece of advice or something. I’m not happy about this, particularly because it’s essentially a new car (2022) and we make normal use of it. Any insight is welcome! The video can be found here.

I’m afraid to say it’s not so uncommon.

When dealer finished with my HVBJB swap and a load of program updating they reported one of the rear door lock modules was faulty and as it was out of warranty it should’ve cost me c£500!

Other faults could be related because if car thinks a door is not fully and properly shut all sorts of other systems won’t function properly.

Got the Hill Start Assist Warning, then it shortly escalated to the point where it was showing that my driver door was opened, which then led to me not being able to open the driver door or lock my doors.

Called Ford scheduled a mobile service appointment (today), tech came out connected his computer did some troubleshooting and then said he couldn’t do anything that it’s giving him a door module code and he couldn’t clear it. Now I have to bring the car in for service.
