Have been a happy Mach-E Premium owner for almost a year, love the car.

By far the most annoying entry on my wish list is the interior door handles that are not only located at a pretty hidden place (inside the elbow rest bar), but more importantly, not lighted. Every time someone new gets into the car, they have no clue how to open the door upon arrival if it is dark outside. I can't imagine I am the only one with this issue. Is there any solution?

My mom usually grasps first at the window up/down switch but then fumbles her way over to the door handle with no further prompting. But she's blind. I haven't really observed it to be a significant issue for her (or anyone else) so far.

The main problem for my passengers is finding the door open button from outside the vehicle. It'd be neat if they were visibly lit up day and night whenever the vehicle is parked and a recognized key is detected in close enough proximity.

I just get out and lock the car laughing all the while and saying "That'll teach you!" It doesn't go over well, but I have fun with it.

It wouldn't be all that hard to put a small LED light in the arm rest that lights the handle. But it'd be a custom solution so no one here will be able to point you to a product that exists.

Agree - getting in is an issue too lol. But most can figure it out after a few seconds, whereas trying to get out has no chance at all in darkness. Surprised there is no solution, neither from Ford nor from crowd wisdom.

/\ Same issue here. 87 YO MIL trying to get out, plus 18 yo Walmart curbside employees trying to get in. FIRST WORLD PROBLEMS…..
