I tried to get 24-PU0102-CHG-SUFX to download all week.

It was interrupted six times. Usually when this happens I go for a drive of about a half hour and when I get home the download completes.

This time I went for 3 drives and it kept failing...

I figured it was a 12V issue and I was frustrated because I didn't want to keep having to drive to get the update.

I scratched my bald head and thought , what am I going to do?

Since you can't see the 12V level anymore I called the Ford help line twice to see what it's level was. The first guy was helpful but the second lady was not. I asked for the 12V level and she gave me the HV level. Then she said that I need to brake a lot to charge the battery. That didn't sound right.

I came to this sight and searched the awesome 12V write up and concluded that I needed to charge on 110 for a long time. That was the ticket to success!

I unpacked my charger for the first time and it worked like a charm...

Thank you Mach E forum for all the knowledge.

Glad this process charged your 12V battery. Charging AC whether 240V or 120V should charge it.

The problem for me is that I am retired so I don’t drive very much.

Because of that my HVB doesn’t take very long to reach 90% and I’m not on the charger long enough for the 12V to charge up ?‍♂

I usually charge from the mid 70’s% up to 90% about every 3 weeks or so. Plugging in to a regular socket gave me more time on the charger.

I know that I need to drive more, but I just don’t .

Oh, don't worry about driving more just to charge. Plugging in overnight will provide power both to the 12V battery and so the HVB remains w/in an operational temperature range. May not be needed unless you are in the cooler parts of CA - maybe mountains. However here in CO we ensure our MME is plugged in overnight or when not being used throughout the winter. Definitely helps the HVB.

Cold weather is not an issue here in the SF Bay Area.

I might be wrong but I thought the 12v does not charge after you hit the target level and the session ends? Regardless if you are still plugged in.
