Probably because he beat expectations and the other two divisions made a boat load of cash.
I like Farley. I love what Ford is doing with Mustang and Bronco and Maverick. EV market is a bitch right now, I wouldn’t blame him personally for dumb shit like Elon’s price cuts, nacs vs ccs, Dealers revolting, high interest rates, tax credit changes, etc. if anything Farley should be congratulated on failing fast with ccs.

Change is hard. Unfortunately with interest rates being high and federal subsidies going away it makes EVs a hard sell in a lot of areas. Ford still needs to make investments here, but is doing the right thing by backing away from going full bore. Even Tesla is having to cut prices just to keep their factories busy. Otherwise they'd be taking a financial bath trying to recoup the money that they've invested in all these gigafactories. It's going to be a bumpy ride financially for the entire industry during this period of change.

MME isn't cost competitive, charging is pathetic, and its efficiency is at the very bottom where it's competing with TRUCKS at 70mph!? They need to get with LG and unlock some more potential given the cell spec revisions LG has already made. If ford could sell all of their excuses and "soon" promises, they'd be making a killing.

Yeah, can't argue on the cost competitiveness point.

Charging: Not unique to Ford, all non-Teslas suffer from VWs willful incompetence. Superchargers will improve the charging experience for everyone unilaterally IMO.

Efficiency: The GT model isn't even close to the most popular version, and it's intentionally not as efficient as the other models. This is disingenunious at best.

Damn straight. I can’t believe what a bastard Elon is being by lowering the cost of his cars and making them affordable to the masses at the same time putting pressure on his competitors to do the same.

I just looked at the online configurator for a Premium AWD ER. I see a $7,500 incentive that seems to be for leasing only. Are there incentives for purchasing, or is it really $59k? The MY Long Range after tax credit is $43k.
