Ford is having back end issues. No Mach E's can be activated at this time.

Unfortunately, that won't work. PaaK is tied to a device ID (your phone). Each phone has it's own unique device ID. The car does not have that device ID nor can it. When you're using PaaK, and approach your car, the car picks up the device ID which is encrypted and transmitted via a low power Bluetooth connection and NFC (Near Field Communication). Your phone is authorized to be a Key via the App and only that phone with that device ID.

You can have multiple phones (up to 4) set as keys but each one is tied to that unique Device ID.

Hope this helps.

I can understand the PAAK being deleted by server but why delete the backup codes.

I understand someone wanting to take away access in case of divorce, breakup, rental etc but if this not initiated by user and by server then backup codes should not be deleted. Otherwise, you could be left stranded without FOB.

Anyone else having issues with not being able to see if your car is charging with the app? I can’t see any charging details at all through the app. I have tried closing the app removing the charger and plugging back in and still nothing after the app came back up.

I purchased yesterday. When I bring up the App there is still a message that says they are having trouble with "Activation" and are working on it. How long have they been working on it? Are other MME owners functioning normally or are we all in the same boat? PAAK work for some?

Because each backup start code is linked to a PaaK. You can’t have a start code without PaaK. That’s just the way they’ve chosen to implement it.

Mine’s been working fine (so far).

I purchased on July 5. the Paak set up by the dealer was deleted early July 6. Any attempt to create a new park failed with a message saying key download failed. Yesterday I did a master reset and now I cant activate it. I’ve been getting the same activation error message. Other than this problem the car is fine.

What model of phone? My new MotoE programmed and also my daughters Samsung Galaxy but a newer BLU never worked. The BLU would do the fail to download.

None actually work as well as the Fob but needed to get the backup passcode and Ford is silly. They should link the start passcode to the factory default door code but insist on Paak.

iPhone 11. iOS 14.6. Have chatted with Ford several times and they admit it’s a problem on their side.

I don’t think it is limited to just the Mach-e. My super duty wasn’t updating and the remote functions of the app are not working.

Happy to report that I was able to activate and create a PAAK This afternoon. :)

UPDATE: This morning the App is working correctly!!! I was able to "Activate" my car. I was able to set up PAAK (iPhone 10). I was able to set up my home charging location and set it to stop at 90%. Either the Factory default or Dealer had it set for 100%. Thanks to the forum members for the assistance; reading your posts is really helpful!!!

So, does your car start and drive still? If I understand you correctly.....you just aren't able to get FordPass to connect to the vehicle right now. The actual car still works. Correct?
Lol…..Let me guess…….….yes, the car still performs as a car so it’s not the end of the world.

Hi All,

Last night I lost all connectivity to my vehicle. Today, I have received at least 30 emails telling me that a Master Reset was performed and my vehicle is no longer activated. I have not performed a master reset. On top of this, there is a known issue with Ford right now that no vehicles can be activated at this time.

So, I have lost all connectivity to my vehicle, and can't re-activate it.

Things like this should have been worked out completely prior to production and vehicles being released to the customer. I know it's a new platform, I know there are going to be bugs, but this is a little over the top. I've been in IT for close to 30 years and I can tell you this was poorly executed.

So, if you're taking delivery today or who knows, in the next few days, you may not be able to activate your car via the FordPass app.
Calm down………it’s not the end of the world.

This is the price one pays for being the first customer of a ground up new vehicle in it’s first year of production and yes, every brand new vehicle in it’s first year of production, regardless of the brand has problems/bugs.

Really? The hell you say! As a systems engineer I wouldn't have known that. (complete and total sarcasm)

I was just getting the word out to everyone.

And FYI, some owners had their backup start codes removed as well as their PaaK's when Ford was implementing a fix. One owner was even stranded because their PaaK, door codes and backup start codes were no longer available.

I took my Mach E to the dealership and they did a software update that comes out later this year. It fixed all of those bugs your talking about. I reactivated my car with the fob and my phone together. You have to delete the my key currently stored in the Ford pass app and reset it.
