Having issues starting up

So I press the button to start car and turn dial to Drive but sometimes I can't move the dial to drive so I press the start button then try to move dial but nothing. Can do it two or three times to get it to work. Any ideas

Do you have your foot depressing the Brake Pedal, while pushing the Start Button?

Are you getting No Key Detected?

I find it takes a few seconds from the time you hit the start button (with your foot on the brake) and the full power up where it will allow you to shift out of park (with your foot on the brake of course).
