I press the voice command and ask to be taken to the Hilton Garden Inn Missoula Montana. Results are a Garden Inns in my area. How can I get it to search out of my area?

I’ve done that and it does. If even recognize Missoula. I was ble to search by phone number but that clumbersom

For me searching by voice seldom works right. You must have name and location exactly right. Even then if I get name right doesn't understand location. I want to use voice commands but seldom understands anything. When I was try to get to a specific ea station, ea near me, or ea city, or ea location, Alexa came on and said she can't help with that? Alexa is almost as worthless to me. Alexa if she even has an answer, often something unrelated to what I asked.

This is not meant to be a “which system works best“ just my observations using Apple CarPlay in my MME: Siri voice commands, including navigation, making phone calls, text messaging and other apps pretty much works 99% of the time.
Ford navigation OTOH Has never really worked for me unless I hand input which, like you said, is PITA ?
If Ford is true to their word, and they are going to allow Apple CarPlay 2024 to deeply integrate into the system I doubt seriously if you’ll ever have to use a Ford sync app again???

Here is a response from Ford and I am impressed.
I apologize IVT was unable to assist. We offer Guided Virtual Tours which are 30-minute, one-on-one, live video calls with a Ford vehicle expert. The Ford expert can see what you see and help you with Navigation settings with you in driver seat. Would you like to try this?
