Ford Options...Ugh

So the dealer tells me now that they calculated the tax wrong on the final contract that we all signed. They did 9% instead of 9.25% ? That's the difference between it and the earlier version. I guess their computer was trying to help us out a little.

The $2500 incentive is treated as down, so isn't factored in before the tax is figured. Along with the utility/California rebate- which actually makes even more sense, but still happens after tax is calculated. I'll work it out with dealer.

Tax in my county is 9.25%, higher than 84% of california...

I emailed my dealer one month in advance and began prepping the finance guy on what Options is, and that I would be utilizing it. I did get it all documented and they finally have the correct format. Just awaiting delivery...come onnnnnnnnn.

Same. Due to the issues that I saw people having on here, I asked if I could come in and meet the Finance Manager. They setup a day and time, and I came in with a small list of questions, including Options and asked them to go ahead and give me a trade-in quote on my car.

I figured that last part wasn’t going to be good, but I ended up being even more disappointed than I expected. I had also gotten quotes from Vroom, Carvana, and CarMax. All three of those were within about $100 of each other at around $21,000. My dealer gave me a $17,500 quote. That’s almost 17% less. ?‍

At least you got your dealer to look at your trade. That’s further than I could get.
