I've set up Ford Pass to charge up to 90% during off peak hours (8pm to 8am). I have a large solar array and when the sun is shining it is cheaper for me to charge during the day than during off peak hours. When I select charge now Ford Pass does so but at the 100% rate. Anyway to set charge now to 90%?

No. The only way to set a percentage limit is within a time schedule.

Looks like I'll be setting Ford Pass charging to Charge Anytime and then during cloudy conditions resetting it to Off Peak charging. PITA.

Or hit charge now and unplug when it reaches your desired level.

You might consider editing your home location and add a se

I think you can set up two charging times per location. Edit your home location and add in a daytime start and stop. That should allow the car to charge to your preset limit.

That would work but then I would have to be monitoring the SOC quite often.

I could do that but I can't set it up to charge on peak to 90% on sunny days and charge to 90% off peak on cloudy days. Or am I missing something?

No that’s beyond the car’s capabilities. You’d need an evse specifically tied in to your solar system to accomplish that. I personally just do what @hybrid2bev suggested above snd plug in when it’s sunny and unplug when it’s done.

Or tap the charge to 100% on sunny days, keep an eye on it (% charge req'd = approx. time) you can then tap stop charging at whatever time or condition you want. Two separated taps and not perfect but another possibility.

Actual my Emporia EVSE can utilize excess solar power. I have an Emporia energy monitor that can schedule vehicle charging. Right now it only monitors consumption. But I can add additional equipment to monitor input from the solar panels. The system could then tell when the panels we supplying excess energy and use that to charge the car. I might go thst route. I was just looking for a software solution first.

Things are a bit easier here. I pretty much know my batteries will be full by noon on most days. So that’s when I plug the car in. ;)
