I think it's a fix only for the EU version, as far as I know the US version was OK.

Paak still works for me but 4.24.0 introduced a new "feature" ... when connected to the car it spams the force close, wait, or report dialog...

I'd not consider that OK ?

I have the same issue with 4.24, has to set up PaaK again and email. Internal message in the app shows PaaK is enabled but doesn’t show on the phone. The last data update is from 6:46pm yesterday and nothing is updating after that.

Having the exact same experience with the app crashing with the force close, wait, report box as well.

I have the new feature too ( where I have to force close it and reopen the app) and I see the blue tooth disconnect and reconnect while driving in the app. For some reason I don't get no key detected warning while it's doing it. @Ford Motor Company there is a thing called don't fix something that's not broken

Fordpass 4.24.0 on Android 13 removed my European account login and completely broke Paak, it happened automatically while I was 100km away from home!!!

The backup start passcode never works in my vehicle and the dealer cannot even fix it....
Fortunately I read on the forum that keeping a fob in faraday case hidden in the car can be a life saver ,, which luckily I had used, if not it would have been a real struggle this far .......

Had to manually roll back to apk 4.23.1 and remove Paak from vehicle and phone then setting up again for it to work.

Now the new update 4.24.1 arrived and it keeps force closing occasionally but very frequent, almost on every startup and connection to vehicle..... Very disappointed and frustrating given the price of the car.

Now I'll have to roll back to 4.23.1 again till it's all fixed....

My advice, remove automatic updates in the playstore from fordpass and only do manual updates.

I'll take the update on IOS. Android is always going to be a relative disaster because of the thousands of permutations of android operating systems and hardware... It's not necessarily a bad omen for IOS.

Called Ford yesterday and advised that known issue after 4.2 and go to dealer to fix it. Checked this morning and all back to normal so looks like it is taking 24+ hours to sync after 4.2.

I’ve seen too many bad or marginal iOS versions of FordPass to take that bet. I have Auto Updates turned off on the phone. I’ll wait to see the fallout, though you are correct, that is likely to be less than the Android version. The Apple version should push in the next few days If the follow their usual scheme.

In this version, there's a new always-on notification when connected to the car:

SmartDeviceLink is Sync AppLink but opened to other manufacturers as well, e.g. Toyota. If you tap the notification, it takes you to the web site: SmartDeviceLink

I don't recall seeing this notification on earlier versions, although AppLink SmartDeviceLink was there.

If you look at the right time you can see a connection countdown when the phone first connects to Sync through Bluetooth.

It happens on the phone side. It is a standard android dialogue box that pops up when an application is having issues/crashing.

It's an Android system level dialog box something like this (random search image from the internet)

It pops up over everything e.g., if you're in the car and connected and you pull up a web browser or other app it will keep popping up every 5-10 seconds.

Not sure if it is being silently muted for me now but I didn't see it yesterday. Perhaps whatever was happening worked itself out?
Edit: just kidding, still popping up occasionally.
