The OTAs will work via wifi or cellular signal. So, wifi is not necessary to get the updates. The download will just be slower. Not sure this is the correct link to ask this question but I guess it's as good as any. Had my Mach e about 2 months and it is great. My question: How important is it to have the Mach e connected to my home WiFI? I live in a condo and my garage is a good distance away from my condo and wifi. I can't see my wifi in the garage, but if I move my car to the end of the building where my condo is I can see a weak signal but cannot connect to it. Looking into extenders to improve my Wifi signal to connect the Mach e. But thinking, is the connection only necessary for large updates? I did receive one update over the air recently. So how important is the Wifi connection?
