FordPass iOS - Should I Be Getting Notifications?

Should I be getting notifications in iOS when events occur in FordPass?
Say, for example, the vehicle alarm is triggered (as it was today at the dealership)? These events are listed in Message Center in the FordPass app, but I don’t receive any iOS system notifications (such as banners on the lock screen like I might get when my Starbucks order is ready).

In FordPass settings, I do have all notification settings (Charge Status and Vehicle Alerts) turned on. In iOS settings for FordPass, I have:
Allow notifications is on
All three alert styles are selected
Banner style is persistent
Sounds and Badges are on
Show Previews is set to Always

I’m on an iPhone 13 Pro Max running iOS 15.4.1
Here’s the really odd thing - a friend has my car configured in FordPass on his phone, and he gets alerts for all events. And he’s in Germany right now! He texted me this morning to ask why my alarm went off ?‍ That was news to me, but sure enough, it was in Message Center ?‍

Any thoughts?

I'm two weeks away from one year of ownership and there are two consistencies throughout my time with the car:

1) Fordpass notifications are completely useless...iOS at least. I have NEVER gotten a timely notification of any type.

2) Ford doesn't want us early adopters to use the frunk 'cause they won't give us a button. Must be something dangerous in there that is Ford specific in the entire history of frunks. ?

I still would love to know the full story of the frunk. Yes, I’ve read the “doll doesn’t fit” or whatever, but that just doesn’t seem plausible. If it was really that simple, they should have been able to enable the electric release a lot earlier.

Make sure you don’t have a Focus or Do Not Disturb turned on on the phone

I still would love to know the full story of the frunk. Yes, I’ve read the “doll doesn’t fit” or whatever, but that just doesn’t seem plausible. If it was really that simple, they should have been able to enable the electric release a lot earlier.

I do not know the real story, but from what I have pieced together from the web, the government didn’t have an allowance for Ford’s implementation of the emergency release inside of the frunk. It apparently took until just before 2021 Job 2 cars were produced for the approval of Ford’s system, whereupon the divider was removed and the operational software was released to production. Now it’s up to Ford’s OTA people to release an update package for 2021 Job 1 cars, which apparently is going really slow. ?‍??

Make sure you don’t have a Focus or Do Not Disturb turned on on the phone

Check that focus and do not disturb is NOT on, as mentioned above; you have the latest iOS, so that's not it, the last thing I can think of, especially if it's working on another phone, in GERMANY... and as silly as this may sound, cycle your phone off and back on, it's worked for me, on occasion. if that doesn't do the trick, dive deeper into Focus and Do Not Disturb. Also, while Apple tech Support cannot answer questions about Ford App, I'd give them a shot, especially if you're getting other notifications. 800-MyApple.

Definitely weird you’re not getting them. Only other thing I can think of is a reinstall of the app.

There are also notification setting within the app.
Account>settings>notification settings. Might be worth peeking at.

From what I understand (again, this is just information I got off the web), there was nothing in (then) current regulations that allowed for Ford’s emergency exit solution and the regulators had to study it in order to approve it. ?‍??

FWIW, I eventually get Fordpass notifications, but lonnnggggg after I should have. Charging, securilert, whatever...they never work correctly. iPhone 12 always running the latest iOS over a 12 month period and all the FP/Sync versions that entails. It almost certainly is not a phone issue.

Sorry to derail the thread with my good natured frunk jab at Jimrpa. It remains the most idiotic thing about my car. Frunks are decades old tech...this isn't hard.

When I first got my car, I’d get sporadic, but delayed notifications. Nothing in months tho.
