Curious, how does an OTA update to the car and not a FordPass firmware update change the available options shown on the app?

Is it because the OTA made the car communicate to FP app that a function is no longer available and the app removed said function?
Seems odd indeed. My FordPass app is version 5.4.0 for Android and it shows as last updated Aug 6 but the window open/close buttons just disappeared in the last day or two, right when the OTA notification showed up on my car's display.
Ford is very clearly not an IT company...ur a UX company.

Not a hardship, but an inconvenience.

While I agree, carrying a fob isn't the end of the world, the whole reason for PaaK is so that we don't have to carry a fob. Many of us have become accustomed to not carrying a fob and now we have to if we want the window function.

This seems like an unintended glitch specific to a recent OTA and will likely get fixed, hopefully sometime soon.
Although somewhat off topic, those of you who may start carrying a fob might find this useful.

I keep my fob in a mission darkness fob faraday pouch at all times except when intentionally waking the car up and driving it. I do that to help protect the baby battery.
If you have to start carrying the fob and have 12v battery concerns you might want to consider adding a fob faraday pouch to your kit.

When I bought them a couple of months ago they were 15 USD on Amazon for a two pack. The Mission Darkness brand work perfectly. Also gives protection from someone trying to skim data or signals from the fob.

The car has no clue the fob is next to it when the fob is in the pouch. I also disable Bluetooth in the house and in the garage, unless I absolutely need to use it, in order to protect the baby battery.

Those aren’t original ideas. I think I borrowed them from Mach-Lee or someone else on the forum.

Great suggestion. Below is what I keep my fobs in. I also leave one hidden in the car just in case. The enclosure is reminiscent of Zippo lighter, just larger.

That’s pretty cool. Definitely has the coolness factor over Mission Darkness!

I guess my car got an update the other day and now I don't have the window roll down function in the Ford Pass app.... WTF????
I seriously wish ford would take feedback from people as what we want in the app instead of willy nilly taking things out like window controls, trip planning ect.

Same here, must be another update fault. I believe you can still operate the widows using the global feature on the fob. To put windows down hit unlock twice then hold the unlock for 5 seconds. Do the reverse (Lock) for putting up the windows. I’ll test this out myself.

It's far easier, cheaper, and more reliable to just take out the battery. If all you need the spare fob for is to start and run the car, you don't even have to put the battery back in.

I had the window controls in the app on Saturday. Haven’t driven anywhere since then. Car got the ECG-24.2.4.10.2 update pushed last night. This morning I no longer have window controls in the app. Phone is on latest iOS release and latest FordPass app. ‘23 Premium AWD Extended

EDIT: just checked my app again and the window controls have returned. Nothing was updated in the 4 or so hours since I first noticed the controls were gone.

absolutely, just annoying on my 75k car is all...
I get that, even in USD . I’m just not into paak and the orher methods work for me. Frankly I think our Mazda 3 has a better app than the FordPass.

Try removing the app and reinstalling it from the Play Store

Same. Buttons reappeared sometime this weekend. Someone at Ford pushed a live update to fix this. My app shows it was last updated over a month ago.
