Which has been the case in the US. Which is about to change now that battery advancements (range and cost) have enabled legacy automakers to start making new SUV/CUV BEVs with decent range that consumers will actually buy in more than niche numbers. Like the Mach-e.

If the Mach-e only had 100 mile range, it wouldn't have anywhere close to 50,000 reservations. In fact, Ford never would have built it. It would have just been the clunky little compliance car they were originally planning 3 years ago that almost no one would buy, and probably been called something goofy like the Electron.

The virus impact is a whole different thing than what we were talking about (products that would create mainstream consumer demand in a free market).

Yes, the virus (and the reaction to it) that's tanking the economy will depress consumer demand for all big-ticket items. All over the world. China took a big hit too. And they depend on us (and the rest of the world) to buy most of their stuff. That's gonna hurt them too. (The EU is shutting down right and left too BTW.)

Nice outlook !!! They are not shipping my MME over seas !! Why do you come up with depressing
posts. If you can't help build the American morale then stay silent. You have made a joke of
yourself. They just announced May 11 orders will open. Why just why do you do the things
you do. You have upset everyone with that post !!!!!

No system is 100% absolute. We all know that when we use the general terms for economic systems in use, we're talking about being more free market or less free market than others.

It's just the opposite.

And no one said Ford would or should sell the Mach-e only in the US. Wouldn't make any sense to limit it to just that.

And your theory about Mach-e deliveries all going to Europe would be crazy for Ford, to go back on everything they said and alienate thousands of customers. Which is why it won't happen. There could be some delays, but they sure as hell aren't all going to Europe.

60% yes (if that's even true... we've been pointing to that one report for a long time now). Not 100%.

And a new year will include additional vehicles (2022 models) in the 2nd half of the year. As well as the Escape PHEV (named the Kuga in Europe) to help satisfy government mandates. So no, not only is there no logical reason to suddenly not sell any 2021 Mach-e's in the US, it would also be crazy for Ford to even consider it. Especially as it would alienate thousands of customers (many new to Ford) that put down $500 deposits to reserve a spot in line.

No way.

people are not going to be able to pay the $15k premium for an EV even if they want to.

I have no problem paying what Ford wants. Your term "People" should be "Some"
Do you think we are all broke ??

Could be natural talent or could be lots of concentrated training, but the effect is the same. Anger, hatred, disillusionment, etc. is what we get and it seems to be his goal. The best I can say is that confrontation is certainly the goal.

I doubt it'll be 4 months (the Ford employee posting here a lot sure doesn't think so). But it really doesn't matter how long the delays are. What you're missing is that all other vehicles will have similar delays (regardless of how long it is). And that the economic crisis will depress all car sales (not just the Mach-e). Heavy-handed government mandates work as a % of sales. Ford won't need to sell 100% of the Mach-e production in Europe like you're saying because they (like all manufacturers) won't be selling as many ICE vehicles over the next year either.

Anyway, this is all getting a bit into the weeds, and a bit silly. So I'll try to leave it there.
