Front Camera Washer

On my 2022 GTPE, the front camera washer extends and washes the camera but doesn't retract. (I can push it back in manually). From the video posted here earlier, it looks like it should retract on its own, correct?

I had someone trigger the wipers while I watched and I see now that it sometimes it starts to retract but only gets about 10% of the way in. Other times it does retract fully. Guess I'll have service look at it next time I go in. In the meantime, do you think it's safe to try squirting some water or silicone in there when it is extended to see if that lubes/cleans it?
