Brand new car (2023 Mach E Premiuim AWD) and have only drove it this week. ACC works but when I click on the lane centering feature I get an error that it isn't available and then a second message that says "Front facing camera is blocked". I've wiped the front camera that is directly under the frunk but still get this error. When I park though I see the front camera works and I can see things.

Side Note: I had the car 1 day and got rear-ended on the highway. No one was hurt just the cars. I just got it back from the body shop and didn't know if they covered something that just needs to be cleared. I didn't see anything on the front end through. The damage was only to the rear so they didn't replace or work on any parts on the front that I'm aware of.

Does anyone have any suggestions or is this a dealership trip for me?

Camera is on rear view mirror looking out, not the one you found...

The front-facing camera used for the cruise control is in the blacked-out section of the windshield at the area of the rear view mirror. It’s housed within the plastic that surrounds the mount for the rear view mirror. If the car thinks it’s blocked, the windshield is likely dirty in front of the camera. ??

Does this look normal?

That is a light sensor, not the front camera. This is (in the truncated pyramid shape). ??

Mine looks like that as well. I don't see anything blocking it inside. It's been raining the last 2 days. Would that have any effect?

Anything that obfuscates the camera’s view will give you that error. Fog, debris, water, dust, or whatever else that might find its way to your windshield. ??

So, any time is rains or snows then lane centering won't work? It has to be a clear day?

It works during rain and snow so long as the camera can see. Your camera is faulty in some way. Time to schedule an appointment with your dealer.

The wipers cover that part of the windshield, so it should be fine in the rain. If everything appears to be clean, your camera needs service. There is a known issue with the cable going to the camera. Ford has issued a TSB for it. ??

Ugh. Only drove this car 2 times and I already have to take it in for service?

Does anyone know if they can look up something by my VIN to see if this is indeed a trip to the dealer?

Did the error come up as soon as you got the car from the body shop? Just ask them to hook up a scan tool and clear any codes.

The error doesn't show up when you turn on the vehicle. It's when you hit the lane centering button.

Body shop had at take it to a dealership (Not the one I bought that car from) to give it the "all clear" before they gave it back to me. I don't know what tests they ran but I would suspect that it was just a diagnostic to make sure all the main systems weren't affected during the crash.

I understand, it could still be caused by a persistent DTC that just needs clearing that you can do with an OBD reader. Rather than taking it to the dealer, I was hoping your body shop would be kind enough to do a quick DTC scan and clear. If the issue persists after that, then you have no choice but to go to the dealer, but this would save you a lot of headache if that is all it is.
