Hey guys;

I'm looking for a "wind defector" add on for my 2022 Mach-e. I'd like to have something on the front of the moonroof to protect the first couple of itches of the moonroof from rock chips.

I have a crack in my moonroof now due to a rock chip on the edge, so when I replace it, I'd like to put some protection on the front to avoid having to do this again. lol

Any ideas, links to product that will work?

What about a strip of ppl or vinyl wrap? 2-3 wide and wrapped over the front edge? Maybe two layers (or thick mil) for the edge just be really “bouncy” for anything that could chip the edge?

Ford sells a kit for reducing wind noise, I installed the strip a little differently so it sticks up a couple mm above the front of the glass. Any higher will start to affect your range due to aerodynamic wake behind it. I think my strip provides adequate protection from front chips (and significantly reduced my wind noise).

Did you also have wind noise from your side mirrors? I'm pretty sure mine is a result of that and not the roof, but some additional protection for the leading edge of it is probably a good idea regardless.

Do you have a link to the kit?

I just put on PPF on the whole glass.

I've done this as well as put an 8" strip of PPF from the front-edge backwards. Not only does this protect the glass, but along with the silicon sealant on the side mirrors, it dramatically reduced wind noise as it did for Mach-Lee. Highly recommended and easy to do.
