Front windshield defroster - how good in cold climates?

Can you fellas in colder climates comment how good it works? I just read an article and saw a you tube that overseas FORD actually installs a heated wire in the front glass, just like the rear windows have. In my opinion that would the BEST idea. My wife car has that, it works so good, nice even heat. Thank you all. ?

Yeah, the heated windshield isn’t available in North America, unfortunately. The regular defrost works fine, but be prepared to pay a hefty range penalty for it.
