I recently initiated a Google search request about the 2026 Lincoln Corsair. The posting by Google Search Labs AI ends with "all responses may include mistakes," so take it with a grain of salt.) .

I frankly doubt that this Google response is accurate, but it is intriguing.

I've posted it below:

The 2026 Lincoln Corsair will be an all-electric model, replacing the current gas-powered version. It will be built on a platform shared with the Ford Mustang Mach-E, but will retain a distinct Lincoln design. The new Corsair will also feature a blend of cutting-edge technology and refined luxury.

Here's a more detailed look:

  • Electric Powertrain:
The 2026 Corsair will be fully electric, marking a shift for Lincoln.
  • Shared Platform:
It will utilize an updated version of the platform used by the Ford Mustang Mach-E.
  • Unique Design:
While sharing some DNA with the Mach-E, the Corsair will maintain a unique Lincoln identity with a blend of technology and luxury, according to a video review.
    • Performance and Features:
Expect smooth acceleration, a quiet operation, and a range suitable for both daily commutes and longer trips.
    • Design Upgrades:
The exterior design is expected to be refined, with a sharper front fascia, a new grille pattern, and sleeker LED headlights, according to a review on YouTube.
    • Continued Luxury:
The Corsair will continue to offer a luxurious interior with high-end materials and features

Link for an article on what the OP posted: Electric Lincoln Corsair-E coming in 2026, report says this article states the Oakville, Canada plant as production. However, we know FORD killed off the 3 row electric SUV that was to be built at this plant. This plant is now for F Series trucks: Ford to produce F-Series pickups at Oakville plant from 2026 | CBC News and Unifor Says Canadian Plant Still Retooling For Ford Super Duty The electric portion of the plant has been pushed back and we don't have accurate news about Lincoln which continues to twist and turn under Ford.

I leased a 2023 Corsair because I wanted a gas backup for now. I love it and hope they still have gas versions when my lease expires

I've heard a reliable rumor that Ford will be coming out with several plug-in hybrid vehicles soon, using small IC engines that only serve to charge the battery. I'm looking forward to this innovation, since it could provide a great compromise. No range issues on battery power...

Nice car. As for your hope, Ford isn’t switching to all BEV anytime soon, so …

The funny thing is that, before Ford had the web reveal of the Mustang Mach E, my plan was to get a corsair (I was hoping for the never-to-be Corsair Black Label ???). A Mustang Mach-E based Corsair would be great as long as they didn’t load it down with a stupid “range extender” gas engine, and they invested a bit of time in packaging to make the frunk larger ?. Oh, and I’d like it if they offered some analogue to the GT for performance.

That would be worth thinking about.

My wife's car is a '23 Lincoln Corsair Grand Touring PHEV. She'll get almost 30 miles on a charge in the summer (18 in the winter). Overall MPG for her is around 66. (She doesn't go far.) We took it on a trip to Nashville and it got a combined 44 MPG doing 80 MPH. BC 1.3 works perfectly. It has been in the shop to do a couple of resets. I would love to trade in my '21 MME for a Lincoln counter part.

That's awesome. I took mine on a 4200+ mile road trip and got 27 mpg (non PHEV). It was just as comfortable when we got home as it was when we left. Not a single issue on the trip.

I would only be interested in a pure EV. I’ve no interest in going back to any vehicle that has the maintenance and expense of an IC engine.
