It's not just EVs. Techs generally get the short end of the stick on all warranty jobs. So performing updates when there is no verified failure is pretty low on their list of things to do if there is other work in the shop.
I'm not saying this is great for the customer. Just telling you how most dealers operate.

I went downhill on L and without it. The car shut down both times. I used L the second time and it completely shut down the second time, the fans were on for a long time and then it just failed to turn on.
Getting the car towed took a long time. You can’t use your own tow company cause the owner of the auto road won’t allow it. I towed it down to the bottom, plugged it in, and boosted the 12v batter which was a hassle to get access to. I misplaced a few clips.
Highly recommend you don’t do it, or if you do, be prepared to have a back up plan. What made it worse was that t-mobile has no reception there.
The car was checked by the dealer for 30 mins and conveniently said “there are no errors, nothings wrong with the car”. I’m working with Ford directly to get it sorted out. Next check up on Tuesday. If they fail to identify the problem, I’m going to drive up again and get it towed to the dealer when it happens again. Clearly they didn’t believe me. I still have a $300 that I paid in cash to the towing company that I want back but Ford asked me to ask my insurance company to reimburse. I don’t want to do that. Also, because I couldn’t place the car in emergency tow mode to place it on the flat bed, the towing hooks bent the bottom side bars cause the rear wheel was fixed. As in, the front wheels were rolling while the rear ones were dragged on the asphalt.
I love the car, I just wish I didn’t have to deal with these issues this early, or ever ??‍♂
OK, just read this thread after my 8th time coming down I80 from 7200’ to sea level in about 60 mi. Today was 107F at the end. I do this drive in 2pd engage with never an issue. Not sure I ever touched the brake as it was in cruise control. Feb 28 build with only one trip to the dealer for Modem and PAAK SSMs in May. Maybe US 50 is steeper, but not by much. Can’t think of anything like Mt Wash or Pikes peak around NorCal.

Thanks for the detailed response.
I'm still not sure if I should do it. Your post seems to suggest I shouldn't. Will see how I am feeling morning of

Ok. Want to bring my rig in for the recall before going to NH this summer on Vacation. Anyone have a pointer at what software patch fixes this. May wish to go up My Washington ( will not put on the bumper sticker)

I would take the car to the dealer and apply the update. That fixed it for me. The car shuts off because of the high regeneration rate going downhill. You wont be able to start it or move it unless you jump start the 12v battery AND plug it in to charge at the same time.

Ford needs to fix this 12v battery problem. First the 12v battery should always be charged until the hv battery is dead. To quit charging the 12v battery because the hv battery is getting low is a bad design decision. Everything in this car is dependent on the 12v battery except drive. why would you put priority on drive over everything else? If drive does not work coms need to be priority. The ability to tow needs to be priority. If 12v batt is dead you can't get break release so tow is a problem. If 12v batt is dead you cannot release frunk to access to 12v battery. Ford, Wake up and get this fixed!

Priority on all systems other than drive should be made.
