Your GOM estimate does seem low. However, the GOM is just an estimate based on how you drive and the climate.A bit harsh, but thanks for the reply none the less. It’s my first EV. I was just shocked that the range told us 100k less than the car actually gets. I know highway isn’t as good. But I didn’t expect to have such a drop in range driving in the summer with less than 2k in it. Hence why I asked if anyone heard about anything that’s been done (ie…anyone know if there is an update to address this). If 5000 threads are there, then you’d think it would be addressed by Ford. At a minimum, stop claiming 418 kms for a GT performance.
Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE this car. Just hoped someone might have an actual update.
In the summer the GOM typically tells me I have around 240 miles of range. That is better than what you are getting but still less than the EPA range estimate. Why? A lot of my driving is on the highway.
Last winter my range dropped below your estimate and I was seeing a GOM of 180 miles. Why? Temperature and again, a driving history that includes a lot of highway.
We are now entering the cold months in North America. If you are in Canada, you are surely seeing below freezing temps at night. That will significantly reduce your range estimates. As it should.
Drive slower. Use less E-heat. And then you will go farther than the GOM predicts. Or drive fast and keep your cabin warm, and you might do worse than the GOM.
Really, I pretty much ignore the GOM in my car. Even though it is pretty accurate based on how I drive.
