The short answer is that nobody seems to know for certain. To test, one would have to have two cars of mostly same configuration and identical weather / road conditions, and then test what effects the heat pump amounts to. On paper a heat pump is in most cases more efficient, but, by how much ultimately is yet to be proven as it depends on a range of factors.

I’d recommend looking at all of the quantified claims of improved efficiency that the manufacturer is touting, then drawing your own conclusions.

I had a 2023GTPE, and now I have a 2025GTPE. While I haven’t exactly focused on it, I certainly haven’t noticed any easily observable change in efficiency.

Without it my 85% charge was as low as range as 279km (-20°C) and now that the weather has started to warm up (5°C) I’m at 333km. At its peak I have 380km when the weather is warmest (26°C).

The heat pump reduces weather range loss quite a bit. However I’m fine with my range loss because my greater concern is how quickly the cabin heats up with a heat pump instead of my current resistive heat coils.

I’d rather have what I have if the option is to take longer to heat the cabin in the winter. I can’t always keep the car plugged in when I’m trying to warm the interior on cold day outings.

Heat pump reduces weather range loss quite a bit...........but. You documentation or data provided. A better thought is to show us your hvb temperature while driving on the divided four lame highest at 100kmph/62 mph at minus 10C.

How do I show the ā€œhvbā€ temperature while driving. Oh and what’s an ā€œhvbā€?

Hepatitis Virus B or HypoVereinsbank. Those are the only possible meanings. :p

You need a OBD2 reader and software, such as Car Scanner to read the HVB temperature. Car Scanner is CarPlay compatible and, I presume, Android Auto compatible.

Back when I worked in healthcare, we usually said "HepA", "HepB", or "HepC" šŸ˜€

Not easily anyway. 25+ are encrypted. The last i checked, the laws and regulations actually don’t require OBD ports at all for BEVs. Sad.
