Folks on this forum have already said heat pumps don't work in cold weather. Not sure why Ford is wasting time on this.

new heat pumps, especially the ones using CO2 as a gas, work quite well at low temps. Check out what's being done for Domestic water heaters these days:

Not sure everyone understands (at least that is what it sounded like when I read the comments) that heat pumps are not meant to replace resistive heating. They simply allow for "scavenging" of would-be lost heat from other components to be used for either heating the battery or the interior but they work in concert with resistive heating in EVs.
