Just remember that you often get what you pay for. Cheap price often means cheap quality. You do what you want but I'm not running 48A 240V continuously through a non-tested, no name adapter plugged into my EV for 12 hours.
I’m sitting with a Tesla Tap from a couple of years ago. But, yeah cheap could be a bad sign. Best case in the event of a problem is the temp rises and one of the sensors shuts it down. Worst would be a lot worse than that.

Doesn’t really matter ACC/START, as long as the action occurs more than 30 seconds after the vehicle is connected.
No dice. Red light on charge port goes away after about 10 seconds. Waited for 30 seconds, nothing. Turned car on and it just pops up with charge fault and does nothing. Tried leaving it plugged in for even longer than 30 seconds before turning car on, nothing.

Bummer, this will be fun!

I tried using a tesla charger at a mall with my adapter in Dec. I had it plugged in and it wouldn't charge. While it was plugged in I pushed the unlock button for the hell of it and it started charging.

Can you take a picture of it for future reference? I'm thinking it's a Gen 3 that got a software update that blocked non-Tesla charging. Or there's some kind of compatibility issue with Mach-E now.

It’s a 1 or 2, has no internet/app capability. This is the sticker on it I took earlier today to read the manual.

I should ask, did you check your codes on your car to see what the exact charging fault was? Could be something odd like power quality or volt drop, Mach-E is more sensitive to those than other EVs.

That's a generation 2 wall connector. If you really want to hack it, there's a secret dip switch setting to force J1772. Remove the T10 screw on the bottom, pop off the faceplate, remove the T20 security screws, open the cover, and set dip switch #2 to off. That forces J1772 so it should work with all brands. Dip switch #1 should also be off on 240V in USA.

Ok I’ll try that. I tried a Charge Point just now. Same problem. This is the DTC I’m seeing. What a nightmare.
