I'm liking these answers. It did sound like a tire hole hiss but it was only audible from inside the car. With the hatch closed you couldn't hear anything near the tire area. I did notice though that it stopped slowly when I unplugged the car from my wall charger. I'll have to keep checking on it. Its very subtle and wouldn't even have noticed if I hadn't been in trunk loading some stuff before heading out.
Is there anything in the battery cooling system back in that area @Mach-Lee ?

I will say this morning when I noticed the sound it was pretty noticeable. Tonight I got home after a 250 mile drive and plugged it in. Went back out and I can still hear the hiss but its quieter. I have to put my ear very close to the back vent in the trunk to hear it. But there is still a constant hissing noise. I'll keep playing with to see when it happens. I think earlier when I unplugged it might have still been there just quieter.

No. Literally just a wire harness, stereo amplifier, and subwoofer in that area. All the cooling pumps would be under the hood, pipes enter the front of the pack. You would hear the rear motor oil pump outside the vehicle. Could be a loose ground or something causing the sub to make noise. I'd unplug the subwoofer if I was troubleshooting. You could maybe pull the DSP/amplifier fuse too and see if that kills it.

Although not the exact area, could the canister for the tire inflator be leaking?

Hmm, my bet it could be the amp...

If I could throw an uneducated guess in the ring... While charging I believe the 12v system is at least partially powered. I wonder if the sub and amp are powering on in error and outputting a hiss in absence of a normal sound input from the radio?

The goo canister is not pressurized. The compressor itself is electric. ?‍♂?

I would vote for a ground issue, it is picking up noise from the car's electronics.

I would go with the speaker/ amplifier noise. When you unplug you are taking the AC out of the system , this could be coming from the 12volt system.

This morning I was loading some stuff in the trunk. Car hadn't been started at all today, was plugged in and level 2 charging though. I noticed there is a hissing sound coming from inside the car in back right side of the trunk. Can hear it through the small vents in the back right side. Seems very constant. Can't hear it at all from the outside of the car. Doesn't happen on the left side at all. Any idea what would be hissing back there?
Hi Dustin! I can look into your Mach-E's noise concern on my end. To get started, could you please send a private message over with the name/location of your local Ford dealer and your Mach-E's VIN?

Funny you should mention this, I heard the same thing today, sounds like boiling water after I pluged in
