The last two times I have plugged in for recharging, I have gotten a error message, but only after the charging start time has come and gone. We have preferred charging set for 10 pm. On 7.2.25, I plugged in as usual around 7 pm, saw the Ford app note that the charge was scheduled to begin at 10. I checked at 10:43p and saw a charge error. I noticed the charge meter flashing orange, unplugged, noticed the orange cease after a minute or so, plugged it back in, and it proceeded to charge to 80%. Last night, the same thing happened and with the same resolution, charging to 100% this time. Anyone else experienced this?

I have been getting charging error messages recently when I plug in outside of the set charging times. The charging ring turns red and I get the message in Ford Pass. But the car charges correctly at the set start time and goes to 80%, which is my limit.

I have not received any software updates in a few months, so it does not appear to be associated with any changes in the car. It might be temperature that triggers it, since we have been over 105F, but I never got this in the past summers in Phoenix.

I had not thought about temperature variations, although it has not been as hot as in Phoenix and was probably in the 80's at the time of the charge. I'll keep that in mind and keep track, but Ponygurl is in a carport, completely shaded, and this issue seems to be an anomaly given that the setup, time charging, etc. have remained constant since February...until now.

I've been getting them pretty regularly now. Never have set a charging time. Just pull into the garage, wait two (2) hours or so, and then plug in for 90% (typically after 9:00 pm to top it off). I don't unplug and re-plug anymore because the car continues to charge, uninterrupted. It has been brutally hot down here in South Florida (got a reading of 116 degrees on the touchscreen a week or so ago, and it gets up to 90 degrees inside the garage).
It was after the first time this happened that the car shut off while I was driving. Dealership's Service Adviser thinks it may be my Ford mobile charger (which I use exclusively to charge at 120 volts). Outlet looks fine, as do all plugs.

My Ford car charger worked perfectly since I bought the car in 2021 until a few months ago. I took the car and charger into the dealer and they found nothing wrong. I borrowed a Ford charger from a friend and had the same problem with not charging or partially charging. I tested the outlet and found both legs were at 120. I finally called my electrician to see if he had any ideas. He said the only possibility was that the Leviton outlet was a standard outlet and now they make an EV 240 outlet. He came over and saw a film on the outlet that indicated it had been hot. Changed the outlet and my problem went away.
He guessed that the heat was creating greater resistance on one leg and that triggered the charger to shut down.
Check your outlet if you are not using a EV certified outlet.

Look at the EVSE. What is the color of the light prior to charging? If it's not the ready light (blue for many), then it has a problem. The manual explains the lights.
