Simple question, but I can’t find the answer and tried searching as well.

Nothing seems to show in FordPass. It just looks like this when you click on updates:
Ford Mustang Mach-E How do I see what version software I have? 3977A64B-8580-4535-819A-7CABB32CEADB

The FAQ on FordPass doesn’t explain it.

And when you click on it he updates in the car, it just says “your vehicle is up to date.”

But I see people here posting about 17.1 updates or whatever. So how do you know what you have and don’t have?

You have a GTPE, you are on the latest SYNC version for the vehicle. The GT line hasn't released any version above what we currently have.

The talk about 1.7.1 is for the older non-GT versions and is just relative to the version of SYNC.

The closest you could get to figuring out what version you have would be in the car go to:

Settings -> General -> About Sync

You should see 21180_PRODUCT / Revision 176

Mine used to say what version I had when I ran the check for updates thing. Now though it just comes back with the "your vehicle is up to date" when I know for a fact 1.7 is not installed.

I think when the install failed the first time it's jacked up the car.

Well unfortunately Ford doesn't group all of the software into one 'version'. Short answer is you can't know what software version you're on and the way they label power ups is very confusing. Some people get 'power up 1.6' then they get 'power up 1.4' after that.... All you know is in ford pass what update has been installed OTA.

Only way to see what updates are actually available is to run the VIN in Fords software FDRS.

Yup that’s what it says. Of course no way I would know how to interpret.

It also says “hands-free driving mode available through 14-03-2022.”

Not sure what that’s about. Shouldn’t I have 3 years?

If you log into your Ford account online you should see all 3 years. I assume the car refreshes that license periodically in the car. I wouldn't worry about it YET. But since we are the first to have it we'll all get to see together when that day approaches.
