How does Securialerts work

Does anyone understand this system or has everyone turned it off?

I've used it for 6 months now and still can't understand how it works. Why does it alert me that the door is opened when I'm opening it with the key in my pocket? Does it literally just record every time a door is opened? I don't use PAAK... I don't have a daily pattern of driving, but it's also obviously useless to alert me so often.

Sounds like you understand it perfectly. Yes, it literally just alerts you ever time a door (or hook or trunk) is open. The only time I turn it on is when my car is in the shop and I want to see when they start working on it.

Congrats for finding a good use for this feature. Makes a lot of sense. I found it so irritating so I shut it off.

I don't think it's meant to be left on all the time. It's meant to be enable when you know the car is going to be somewhere that the doors will not be opened, or scheduled to enable itself at night when nobody should be going into your car. Whether or not it's reliable enough to be used for those purposes is up for debate.
