That's amazing number crunching! Thanks for providing that. I should do the same with the roof mount for comparison. Only problem is, I don't know where your in-laws live. 😬
Well swing on by, they love visitors! I'm sure if someone just randomly came by in a MachE they would just assume we are friends and make you coffee.

If you did want to test, use CarScanner Pro and a bluetooth ODB-II adapter to log data. If you log speed, HV Battery Power and Instantaneous mi/kWh values on a few drives along a similar route, with and without the bike rack, then I'd be happy to help with the analysis.

Yea it's to avoid "crime of opportunity". I figure breaking the window will set off the alarm. I never leave it out of sight for more than a few min. It's not uncommon for a group of cyclists to request outdoor seating or window seats for a post-ride lunch.
'Cause for sure we're gonna catch them in carbon-soled Sidis with cleats ;-)

I just can't get past the suction cups being the only thing keeping my bike from flying off into the sunset, and smashing to pieces behind me. It does look like a great solution though, especially how easy it is to transport the rack.
I can't get past its called seasuckers...C Suckers? Really?

I installed a trailer hitch and use a hitch mounted rack. That works great but I think it is worse for aerodynamics than the roof would be. The bikes are catching a lot of air when I go down the road.
Hey, which trailer hitch are you using? I've been messaging Stealth Hitches, hoping they put one for the GT into production (or at least use my car for fitment purposes).

SeaSuckers are great. You could practically tow the car with the strength they have.

Thanks for the video.

yeah, I’m sold on the sea sucker and have been researching it for awhile. Mentally it feels like a leap of faith but I’m sure I will get over it. Ford really blew it by not providing an integrated hitch option for light “Towing” for bikes and cooler mounts. Hand another score to Tesla and the competition. I’m not going down the path again to get a non OEM hitch and waiting at a third party garage and having them cut into my rear end; even though I have seen some nice hitch work on this site. The SS is the only good option for me.

Anyone had any luck with a bike rack that ties/straps onto the back hatch? My wife is not tall enough to access the roof!

I made a quick YouTube on how I travel with my Tri Bikes on the Mach-e. I'm pretty happy with this solution. I drive with them 2-3 times a week during Tri season (April - Sept). I like that the Sea Sucker stores easily under the back cover.

Here's links:
Thanks for this! Do you know if the SeaSucker supports bikes with thru-axels, or are quick release axels the only ones supported? (My road bike has disc brakes and therefore thru-axels.)

I have never tried disk breaks. Call seasucker they have pretty good phone support.

Now that Thule has a roof rack available why not look at that option?
